Rabbit Hole Bourbon Price

Rabbit Hole Bourbon Price – Rabbit Hole is a new brand that has been on our “must sample” radar for a long time. At a retail price of around $50 for a 750ml bottle, we’re honestly hesitant to spend the money. Rabbit Hole Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 95 proof and is made from a mash bill of 70% Corn, 10% Toasted Wheat, 10% Honeydew Oats and 10% Malted Oats. According to the bottle, this whiskey is “aged for at least 3 years”. In full disclosure, this bourbon was provided to us by Rabbit Hole to sample. With that said, all information provided in this review is 100% honest and a true reflection of our experience.

The main orange quality from the nose does not follow on the palate, however there is still some citrus character in the form of orange marmalade and orange peel. The texture on the tongue has a layer of wax/paraffin that covers the mouth. There is so much sweetness and texture with this bourbon that it reminds one of eating fresh honey. Finally, there are notes of brown sugar and butter, like the syrup you might find in an ice cream sundae.

The finish of this bourbon is in the “medium/long” category, which is impressive considering its young age. A rich layer of honey, brown sugar and butterscotch makes for the ultimate cotton candy.

Rabbit Hole — The Spirits Educator

This bourbon is sweet, very sweet. It is also what we call “very drinkable”, having very little alcohol fire and many sweet elements. Because it’s so accessible, it’s great for new whiskey drinkers who are struggling to enjoy their neat whiskey without getting burned. Plus, this might just be the perfect bourbon to throw a Yeti walker on a hot summer day with lots of ice punch. In conclusion, Rabbit Hole recently built a state-of-the-art visitor center in Louisville, Kentucky, making it clear that they are here to stay. The products they are currently bringing to the market are unique and we are excited to see what else they have, or should we say, rabbits.

Just weeks after announcing its sale to Pernod Ricard, Rabbit Hole Distillery is launching a new whiskey – as well as a complete overhaul of its core range – which will be launched next month. The change is meant to honor a legendary figure in Louisville and in the life of Rabbit Hole founder Kaveh Zamanian, and the new whiskey — a straight bourbon — is tied to the 19th-century spirit.

Century Kentucky immigrants and Zamanian, who immigrated from Iran as a child. “He’s a stonemason who lives here in Louisville, and he carves all kinds of decorative symbols that I think are immigrant patriotism, respect for America and what it means,” Zamanian said. “In many ways, I relate to that spirit of patriotism and what America stands for and represents in terms of opportunity and possibility.”

The new Rabbit Hole whiskey is made from 70% corn, 25% malted rye and 5% malted barley, aged for less than four years in new charred and charred oak casks, and bottled at 47.5% ABV. It launches next month, priced at $70. Called Heigold’s Rabbit Hole, it was named after Christian Heigold, a German who immigrated to Louisville in 1850. A stonemason by trade, Heigold built a mansion in the city’s The Point neighborhood, and decorated it with patriotic carvings and paintings, including a statue of President James. Buchanan.

The choice to name a whiskey after Heigold takes on more meaning when the period in which he lived is put into context. No doubt Heigold felt love and pride for his new country and wanted to show it by placing his masterful art in his own home. But showing her American identity was also a political statement at the time, when the Anti-Immigration and Anti-Gabolic Know-Nothing Party was distrustful and hostile to newly arrived immigrants. In Louisville, the party’s main voice was a newspaper editor, George Prentice, whose words finally sparked violence on August 6, 1855, election day, when mobs of angry Protestants attacked the businesses and homes of German and Irish Catholics. , and killed 22; the next day is known as blood monday.

Heigold and his house survived the violence, and the Know-Nothing Party soon faded, but the patriotic carving can still be seen on the facade of the house, which now stands on the Parc y Waterfront, just a mile and a half from the Rabbit Hole. Plant. While naming Heigold bourbon isn’t a political statement as such, Zamanian said one of his goals is whiskey to bring people together in a time of division.

“Spirit embodies one of the best expressions of who we are as human beings, and like food, music, art, it’s about bringing people together,” he explains. “There’s a kind of political climate today that seems divided, and … at Rabbit Hole, we’re in a very different position because we want to bring people together, celebrate our diversity and celebrate our unity, instead of making it a divisive or binary issue. “

Review #379: Rabbit Hole Cavehill Bourbon

Along with Heigold’s debut, Rabbit Hole gave three other whiskeys new names, although the liquid itself remains the same. “They are all tied to one place and one person,” explains Zamanian, who still runs the factory following Pernod’s plan. “This place is Louisville, and the people are different people who have inspired me.”

Rabbit Hole 47.5% ABV Kentucky straight core bourbon ($60), made with a mash of 70% corn, 10% malted wheat, 10% malted barley and 10% honey malted barley, will now be called Cavehill. The name comes from Louisville’s historic Cave Hill Cemetery. “This is the resting place for more mills than anywhere else in the country, and it’s across the street from my house,” Zamanian said. “I have a lot of respect there. These are the people who paved the way.”

Rabbit Hole 47.5% ABV Kentucky straight rye ($50) takes its new name, Boxergrail, from Louisville’s greatest athlete, boxer Muhammad Ali. Made with 95% rye and 5% malted barley, the rye is smooth, like Ali.

Finally, there’s a cask of 46.5% ABV PX Rabbit Hole sherry bourbon called Dareringer ($80). Called Derringer, Dareringer is made from 68% corn, 18% wheat and 14% malted barley. The whiskey’s name is a nod to Zamania’s wife, Heather, who first introduced him to bourbon. “A sherry cask finish is a very elegant and sweet expression of one of our bourbons,” says Zamania. “My wife, Heather, is a Louisvillian, as well as elegant, sweet and charming. And she is, in a sense, my muse behind the brand.”

Heigold and other newly created whiskeys will go on sale at the distillery on September 1, with major distribution to 18 states, and eventually nationwide, rolling out later that month. Rabbit Hole also has plans to change the name of its gin to Wool and Water – named after Episode 5 “Through the Looking Glass” – to be announced later this year. We take the same Bourbon Whiskey and a spoonful of wheat mash, aged on alligator charcoal. We transfer it to the casks that have been used to refine the sweet dark sherry of Pedro Ximénez. The resulting whiskey is smooth, balanced and has a long finish.
