Nets build huge lead, beat Raptors 114-105 for 4th straight

NEW YORK (AP) — Kyrie Irving scored 27 points and the Brooklyn Nets built a big lead to beat the Toronto Raptors 114-105 on Friday night.

Kevin Durant scored 17 points and Nick Claxton scored 15 points for the Nets, who won 4 consecutive games.

Pascal Siakam added 24 points and OG Anunoby 21 for the Raptors, who have lost two straight.

Brooklyn led by 36 points midway through the second quarter and took a 93-72 advantage early in the fourth quarter.

After Scottie Barnes’ dunk with 37 seconds left, the Raptors scored 11 points to pull within 110-103.

Durant then got fouled on the next possession and hit a pair of free throws. Anunoby missed a 3-pointer and Seth Curry hit a pair of free throws to seal the victory.

Irving and Joe Harris combined for 31 points to help the Nets take a 72-49 lead. Brooklyn’s 72 first-half points were a season high, as they shot 28-for-48 from the field and 8-for-17 from distance.
