2023 Independent Spirit Award Nominations Full List

“Emily the Criminal”, “Aftersun”, “Bones and All” and “The Inspection” also received significant nominations.

The 2023 Independent Film Awards nomination was unveiled on Tuesday, November 22, with last year’s top achievement in an indie film. The awards ceremony is more than three months away – it takes place on March 4 in Santa Monica – but these films are now gaining traction in the coming months on the way to the Oscars and Other awards. This year’s nominees were presented by presenter Taylour Paige (winner in March for directing Best Woman represents “Zola”) and Raúl Castillo (nominee for Best Male Support for “We the Animals” 2018). This year’s TV contest will be shown later on December 13.

“Everything Everywhere at once” directs the nominees into eight categories, with “TÁR” closing behind with seven nominations, including Best Feature, Best Leading Performance, Best Performance. Best Support, Best Movie and Best Director.

At Film Independent for the first time, this year’s awards shifted to gender neutral cast in directing and supporting across film and television. Other types of updates include new awards for best performance (movies) and best support in the new script series (TV). All performance types, excluding Breakthrough Performance, can have up to 10 contestants.

Earlier this year, the organization also announced that funding for eligible films had risen to $ 30 million, with the budget for the John Cassavetes Award now $ 1 million. Meanwhile, in response to the continued influence of COVID on filmmakers and the industry, independent filmmakers have once again denied theatrical performance that is normally required for licensing, guaranteeing more opportunities for independent filmmakers. In recognition and congratulations.

The Independent Spirit Awards nomination is the second major indie award block to determine who is nominated for a year in a film. Back in late October, the Gotham Trophy announced their team for the New York City event, which takes place on November 28 with a spirit-themed film like “TÁR” “Everything Everywhere All at Once. “And” Aftersun “lead.
